FEBRUARY 25 EVALUATION UPDATE

PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR TIME TO REGISTER
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE EMAIL AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
We have received requests on information concerning the Player Evaluations.
- this is NOT a tryout this is a means of letting our coaches see each player as the coaches do not know all the players.
PEEWEE AGE DIVISION DOES NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT
- you only need to come to ONE of the days. You do NOT have to come to both days
- All Players are required to participate in the Draft Evaluation. Players who but do not articipate in the draft evaluation will be placed in a blind draw draft at the draft for the age division. Players who participated in the February 11 draft evaluation do NOT need to participate on February 25.
- 10U and 14U if you are a pitcher or a catcher please plan to stay to the end of your age evaluation time as we will need to have you pitch and catch. Catchers please bring your catching gear.
- upon arrival you MUST sign in at the registration table. Your daughter will be given a wrist band that must be worn during evaluation.
Please park in a designated parking spot.
Players who do not participate in one of the 2 evaluation days will be placed in a blind draft at the appropriate age division draft.
Players of head coaches are NOT required to attend or participate. This is ONLY for daughters of HEAD COACHES! 10U and 14U head coach daughters who pitch or catch will need to participate in the pitching and/or catching portion of one of the evaluations.
What you will need to bring:
•Batting helmet - 6U, 8U, 10U and 14U must have facemask on helmet this season.
•Outdoor footwear if we are outdoors. No open toe shoes, crocs, flip flops, etc.
•Tennis shoes if we are indoors. No open toe shoes, crocs, flip flops, etc.
•Catchers need to bring their catching equipment if they have catching equipment
•Upon arriving parents must register their daughter at the registration table. The player will be given a writband and a player number with first name that must be worn at all times.
•Parents will be asked to remain in an area to reduce the chance of interference with the evaluation
•Coaches will be kept in an area away from the players and parents
•Players and parents may not interact with the coaches during the evaluation period
•Coaches will do their own individual grading
•Coaches MAY NOT CONTACT PLAYERS OR PARENTS CONCERNING LOCK-INS BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER THE EVALUATION until we have posted they may do so
•Once the player has completed the evaluation she may leave
What will evaluation consist of:
•Hitting◦6U and 8U will have a coach pitcher pitch a minimum of 5 "good pitches" to the player
◦10U and 14U will receive pitches from a pitching machine. We may ask they bunt the first 2 pitches to make sure the pitching machine is set correctly for the player then will receive a minimum of 5 pitches. Coaches will be asked to not consider bunting in their grading
•Fielding◦Each player will receive approximately 5 ground balls and approximately 5 fly balls each
◦Upon fielding the ball the player will throw to a coach
•Running - This category may be dropped dependent up on coaches input:◦Each player will run 60' basepath once
•Pitching 10U and 14U only◦if a player desires to pitch in the season she is required to be evaluated as a pitcher. If a player does not participate in the pitcher evaluation the she will not be eligible to pitch in a game without LGSA Board approval first. The pitcher evaluation a minimum of 10 pitches
•Catchers 10U and 14U only will catch pitches from pitchers
We will endeavor to keep the evaluation moving and get you in and out as quick as possible. We ask that you have patience if we do start running behind.
